Irish Coffee 👍

Recipe

  • 120ml hot black coffee

  • 50ml Irish whiskey (I used Jameson's)

  • 1 tsp sugar

  • 30ml double cream

Mix the first three ingredients in a mug, and microwave for a bit if it's not thoroughly hot. Then pour on the double cream.

Don't be tempted to stir the cream in – it's good if it mixes a bit but mostly floats on top.

Delicious warming treat especially for cold weather and, in this case, a sleepy Christmas afternoon. It felt rich, festive and special, and the rich but clean taste of the Irish whiskey complemented the dark coffee flavours beautifully.
